Ingredients: 3/4 cup softened butter; 3 each eggs; 1/2 cup powdered sugar; 1/2 cup sugar; 3 cups Manny’s Choice Flour; 3 tsp baking powder; 1/2 tsp salt; 1/2 tsp allspice; 1 tsp vanilla; 2 cups powdered sugar; 3 tbsp milk; 1 tsp vanilla extract; Christmas Sprinkles

Manny’s Choice Italian Christmas Cookies

Ingredients

3/4 cup softened butter
3 each eggs
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup sugar
3 cups Manny’s Choice Flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp allspice
1 tsp vanilla

Glaze

2 cups powdered sugar
3 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Christmas Sprinkles

Instructions

Prepare the dough: In a large bowl whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder. In a separate bowl, mix the butter and sugars until combined and smooth. Next, add one egg at a time and mix. Then add the vanilla and allspice and mix. Lastly, slowly stir in the flour mixture until it forms a nice dough.
Bake the cookies: Refrigerate the dough for at least one hour. When ready to bake, pre-heat oven to 350°. These cookies bake best with a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Dip the bottom of a small cup in powdered sugar and lightly press down on each ball to flatten the top slightly. Bake for 8-12minutes.
Glaze: The cookies need to be cooled completely before adding the glaze. To make the glaze, add the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla into a bowl. Whisk thoroughly untilglaze is smooth. Spoon the glaze on the top of each cookie, and smooth out. After all the cookies are frosted, sprinkle your favorite Christmas sprinkles on top.
