Manny’s Choice Sugar Cookies

  • 2 1/2 cups Manny’s Choice Flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar


  • Make the dough: In a large bowl mix together, butter, egg, sugar, almond and vanilla extract. Next add in baking soda and cream of tartar. Lastly, while continuously mixing, slowly add in Manny’s Choice Flour, half a cup at a time until all combined.
  • Prepare to bake: Cover the bowl of dough with saran wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least two hours. Once ready to bake the cookies, preheat the oven to 375°F. Then divide the dough in half. Using a rolling pin on a lightly floured surface, roll dough to ¼ inch thick. Next, use various cookie cutters to cut out cookie shapes. You can add sprinkles on top of the cookies before baking if desired. The recipe should make approximately 5 dozen cookies.
  • Bake the Cookies: First, place the cookies on a slightly greased baking sheet. Then, bake the cookies for 7-8 minutes. They should be lightly golden brown on the edges. Lastly, take cookies out of the oven and transfer them to a wire cookie rack to cool.
